ASEAN - tender for technical assistance in nuclear sector

As part of the Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC), the European Union, through EuropeAid, announces a forthcoming invitation to tender aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response in ASEAN.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional organisation comprising ten Southeast Asian States which promotes intergovernmental cooperation and facilitates economic integration amongst its members. Its main aims include accelerating economic growth, social progress, and sociocultural evolution among its members.

The purpose of the project is to enhance the quality and coherence of decision making within ASEAN Countries following a radiological or nuclear emergency. This will be achieved through the installation and use within emergency centres, at national and centralized levels, of state of the art tools and software to support decision making.
The intended timing of publication of the contract notice is end of March 2017. The indicative budget is EUR 1.000.000 .
The Legal basis of the assignment are:
- Regulation (EU) n. 236/2014 laying down common rules and procedures for the implementation of the Union's instruments for financing external action
- Council Regulation (EURATOM) n. 237/2014 establishing an Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation.
